Andry Nirina Rabenantoandro

African Institute for Mathematical Sciences

I am from MADAGASCAR and I was trained in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences of the University of Antananarivo. You can find a brief CV here.

Current position:

Interests: I am mainly interested in Pure Mathematics (Analysis, Topology, Algebra, ...) and have some interests in Combinatorics. I am currently working on:

  • Number Theory: Elliptic curves, Drinfeld Modules, Function Field Arithmetic.
  • Algebraic Geometry
My research is directed towards torsion bounds for elliptic curves and Drinfeld modules defined over function fields.

Education:

  • November 2008: D.E.A (MSc degree) in Combinatorics - University of Antananarivo, Madagascar
Thesis title: Equidistribution et balance de signature pour les permutations 321- et 132-interdites [PDF (In French)]
  • August 2006: Maitrise (Honour's degree) in Pure Mathematics and Numerical Analysis - University of Antananarivo, Madagascar
  • August 2005: Licence (BSc degree) in Pure Mathematics - University of Antananarivo, Madagascar

Conferences, Workshops:

Seminars:

  • I am a regular attendant and speaker at the Number Theory seminar run by Pr. Florian Breuer at SU. We currently work on Elliptic Curves by going through Silverman's book "The Arithmetic of Elliptic Curves".
  • Along with some students we run a reading course on Schemes using the book "Algebraic Geometry and Arithmetic Curves" by Qing Liu (which is a very nice one to start with, especially for beginners like me :)).
